THE NEED FOR HOME INSURANCE COVERAGE WHEN PURCHASING
AND FINDING THE RIGHT AGENT
In this video, we're going to talk about the importance of insurance coverage when buying a home. We'll cover topics like what types of coverage you need and which agent is the best to work with.
Why Home Insurance Coverage Matters When Buying A Home
In this video, I sit down with Jason Stendalen, Owner and Agent with C4 Insurance, to talk about why insurance coverage is such a critical piece of buying a home. We cover the types of coverage every homeowner should understand and what to look for when choosing an agent to work with.
No matter how you go about buying a home, having the right insurance coverage in place matters. This conversation walks through what you need to know to make an informed decision about your home insurance, so you're protected from day one of ownership rather than scrambling to figure it out after something goes wrong.
C4 Insurance is a small, independent insurance agency founded in 2017. Jason has worked in the insurance industry since 2004, and brings that experience into a conversation that's as practical as it is informative.
What Is Insurance, Really?
At its core, insurance is the transfer of risk. It's a legal agreement between the insurer and the insured that works like this: the insurer guarantees compensation for a specific loss, and the insured pays a premium for that guarantee. With homeowners insurance, for example, you pay a set amount each year so that if your house is damaged or destroyed, it gets rebuilt according to the terms of your policy.
The four most important types of insurance to understand are property (home, auto, and similar assets), liability, business, and life.
Why You Need It When Buying And Owning A Home
A home is one of the largest assets most people will ever own, and ownership comes with real risk attached. Insurance protects that asset, whether the threat is fire, water damage, or liability if someone is injured on your property. Not all home insurance coverage is the same, and the gaps between policies can be significant. Making sure you have the right coverage in place is one of the most effective ways to reduce your risk and protect both your home and your finances.
Why Working With An Experienced Independent Agent Matters
Working with an independent agent gives you access to better coverage and better premiums, since they can shop your policy across multiple companies rather than offering just one option. Having several companies to compare against each other means you're far more likely to land on the best deal available to you. Just as importantly, an experienced agent makes sure your coverage is actually correct for your situation, so you're not left exposed if something happens down the road.
